A full-time Registered Nurse opportunity is available in a school setting located in Kenner, LA, serving Jefferson Parish. This contract position runs from ASAP through May 22, 2026, providing 35 hours per week aligned with the school calendar (Monday through Friday, 7 hours daily plus a 30-minute unpaid lunch).
The selected candidate will be assigned to 1-2 schools and should be open to placements on both the East Bank and West Bank, demonstrating flexibility according to district needs. Previous school nurse experience is required, with familiarity in managing tracheostomy and g-tube care, diabetic students, IEPs, health screenings, and training non-medical staff. Strong record-keeping abilities and excellent communication skills are essential for success in this role.
Qualifications And Experience
- RN licensure; BSN preferred, ASN accepted
- Proven experience as a school nurse with relevant clinical skills, including delegation and training abilities
- Proficient in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Google Sheets
- Ability to articulate medical procedures and demonstrate passion for student health and well-being
- Must pass district-required drug screening and fingerprinting
